Lebanese pickled cheese ball salad
I have a Lebanese friend who invited me to a middle eastern dinner. She was making chicken and rice so she asked me to prep an appetizer.
I don’t know what the name of this dish is. But I ate more of this than the chicken and rice that night. I introduced it to my wife when we were dating- she loved it. I bring it to potlucks and people ask about it. Amazingly super.
So you have to go to a middle eastern store and look for pickled shangleesh ! It’s like a very strong cheese that reminds me most of feta IMG_1529.
You basically chop up red onions, tomato, mint, cucumber and crumble the cheese into it. So it’s like a dip. Maybe nice olive oil.
My Lebanese friend provided ritz crackers to scoop the cheese up. It probably make more sense to use pita but I always use ritz crackers.
